Behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and a voice out of the cloud, which said, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye Him.”

(God commands in Matthew 17:5)

V Jesus says,

I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: and hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works. Revelation 2:2-5

Then said they unto Him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him whom He hath sent. John 6:28-29

If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free. John 8:31-32

Verily, verily, I say unto you, he that heareth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. John 5:24

For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. Matthew 12:50

And this is the will of Him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on Him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.  John 6:40

I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live and whosoever lives and believes in me shall never die. John 11:25-26

I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 10:1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. John 14:6

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved. John 10:9

If you love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive because it seeth Him not, neither knoweth Him: but ye know Him; for He dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. John 14:15-18

Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth unto the west; so shall also the coming the Son of man be. Matthew 24:26-27

I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. Every one that is of the truth hears my voice. …and a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him, for they know not the voice of strangers. John 10:5/14/27 and 18:37

@ A footnote for all who long for the Truth and desire to be true disciples of our only teacher Jesus, the true Christ and Son of the living God;

     All the above is taken from the only two eye witnesses who wrote accounts of Jesus’ earthly ministry, His chosen ones Matthew and John. *The only exception being the verse from Exodus, to show that Jesus did not change the rules when He came but that He and His Father both said, if you love me you will keep my commandments.

     Jesus gave them this authority because they were with Jesus from the beginning as He says in John 15:26-27 …the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, He shall testify of me: and ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning. Jesus also prayed for those of us who come to believe after learning about Him through their word in John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

     Our heavenly Father commanded us to hear His Son. His Son commanded us to hear His witnesses who were with Him from the beginning assuring us we can trust their testimony with the help of His Holy Spirit who will testify also to the Truth that is found in Jesus and His words alone. These have been given authority to speak the words spoken directly from Jesus’ mouth to their ears. Anyone whose words do not agree with what Jesus says as told through them, are to be considered false apostles, false prophets, strangers, thieves and robbers from whom Jesus commands us to FLEE
